The pE-SUMOpro vector is for the expression of recombinant SUMO fusion proteins (containing an N-terminal His₆ tag) in E. coli. Production of your protein of interest (POI) is driven through the powerful T7 RNA polymerase-promoter system, with ampicillin resistance facilitating plasmid selection and stability.

Expression of recombinant proteins as SUMO fusions in E. coli

BENEFITS

SUMO fusion can dramatically enhance expression, solubility and stability of recombinant proteins.
Fusion with SUMO has been shown to protect host systems from the over expression of potentially toxic POIs.
Fusion with SUMO has been demonstrated to protect peptides from degradation
Purification of His₆-SUMO fusion proteins is easily accomplished through immobilized metal affinity chromatography (IMAC)
High fidelity cleavage of SUMO by SUMO protease 1 yields native protein with a desired N-terminus (except proline)

PRODUCT INFORMATION

Storage/stability: Store at -20°C or below. Stable for one year under these conditions.
After purification, SUMO protease 1 is required for efficient removal of the His6-SUMO fusion tag from your POI with any desired N-terminus (with the exception of proline).
