General Manager of R&D
Position Summary:

Create value -- lead the growth of current systems and provide leadership in new product development. Execute LifeSensors' R&D strategic plan. Responsible for a team of senior and junior scientists with particular emphasis on translating innovative ideas into technologies for research in ubiquitin and UBL proteins and their function in the cell. Provide QC to support marketing of SUMO products and delivery of contract services.

Required Skills, Experience and Keys to Success:

-   Ph.D in biological sciences

-   Proven track record of 5 - 20 years in R&D of an academic institute, Biotech or Pharma

-   Thorough working knowledge of biopharmaceutical manufacturing and strategic planning

-   Hands-on, in development of protein chemistry technologies growth-oriented applications in proteomics

-   Excellent interpersonal skills, communication skills and presentation skills

-   Ability to lead, plan and manage change in R&D setting

 

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

-   Provide day-to-day leadership in R&D that mirrors the LifeSensors strategic plan

-   Develop innovative technologies to assay ubiquitin ligases and de-ubiquitylases

-   Develop innovative technologies for understanding the role of variety of ploy-ubiquitin chains in cell physiology

-   Direct activities in R&D to validate SUMO systems for therapeutic markets

-   Develop and execute a strategic plan to manufacture high value proteins at LifeSensors

-   Execute ubiquitin pathway microarray strategy and collaborate on development of marketing strategy

-   Represent LifeSensors at national and international conferences

-   Write articles in scholarly and trade journals to enhance visibility of ubiquitin and SUMO technologies
